Brolio Castle is located in the center of the Sienese Chianti area, about halfway between Gaiole in Chianti and Castelnuovo Berardenga.
Since 1167, following a decree by Federico Barbarossa, the Ricasoli Firidolfi become the lords of Brolio. Today, Brolio has lost the appearance of the manor to take on those of the grandiose neo-Gothic villa, whose construction was promoted in 1861 by Baron Bettino Ricasoli.
Although the castle is private, it can be visited, with the exception of the palace.
